7,000 Came Out for Walnut Creek No Kings Protest, June 14, 2025

For No Kings Day, an estimated 7,000+ showed up to march and participate in downtown Walnut Creek! This was our largest gathering to date to protest the Trump administration’s policies and blatant attacks on our democratic processes. We had musicians, sing-alongs, and local government speakers, including Congressman DeSaulnier from CA District 10, Mayor of Concord Carlyn Obringer, Vice Mayor of Concord Laura Nakamura, Chair of the Democratic Party of Contra Costa County Katie Ricklefs, and Labor Organizer Brandon Dawkins. We had a large replica of the Constitution and the large crowd took the Patriots’ Oath administered by Vice Mayor Nakamura.

Later in the day we held two overpass actions on Ygnacio Valley Rd., and Treat Blvd., to keep spreading the message of No Kings. Our affiliate Indivisible groups in Pleasant Hill, Antioch, El Sobrante, Hercules and Vallejo/Benicia also held successful actions, too, with thousands of participants. Indivisible reports that more than 5 million people nationwide participated in more than 2,000 planned protest on June 14th. The numbers are still out, but No Kings may have been the largest single day of protests in the U.S.
