No Kings 3 - Thousands in Contra Costa Protested - What’s Next

On March 28, 2026, an estimated 10,000 to 12,500 people came out for No Kings 3, gathering for rallies in Concord and Pleasant Hill, and a five-mile Solidarity Span routed through Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill and Concord. Thank you to the IRCC steering committee, Commit to Democracy for organizing, and to all who volunteered and participated, giving their time and skills for this massive nationwide event. Indivisible National estimates that more than 8 million people participated in 3,300 No Kings events across the country—the largest protest in U.S. history.

For this third nationwide protest, the range of issues highlighted by protesters is staggering, including unchecked ICE criminality, ongoing war crimes, Epstein Files yet to be released, the trampling of civil rights for LGBTQ+, women, immigrants, and the administration’s gaslighting about the economy. Each No Kings Day has grown as this regime becomes further mired in unconstitutional corruption and incompetence, and now a historically unpopular war. To see people present and loud with humor, kindness and camaraderie, is a tonic.

What’s next? Indivisible urges us to act locally to make change from the ground up. Subscribe here for the IRCC Weekly Newsletter to find the latest actions you can take every week throughout the County. The newsletter is always linked from our home page. This week’s newsletter is here.

With the exponential growth of No Kings, Indivisible National has called for a general strike on May 1st, International Worker’s Day: no work, no school, no shopping. May Day Strong has more information here. Indivisible also has weekly to-do actions on its home page here.

You can watch a celebration of No Kings 3 with a discussion about upcoming actions in Indivisible’s What’s Next After No Kings 3 mass call on YouTube here.

Check the IRCC home page and calendar for all upcoming demonstrations and events throughout the County. The Neighbor to Neighbor Food Pantry is up and running every week and could use your donations to help out our neighbors on Mondays, after the work day is over—more information here.
